What I'm Working on Wednesday

I can't believe it is Wednesday already! Geezz....and October is almost over too! What a year it's been!

OK, so I am currently wrapping up Halloween costumes!! I'll be sharing pictures probably on Friday. Heather is an adorable Dalmation Dog this year and I love how her costume turned out! And I also worked on a simple cat costume for her best friend next door. Their class party is tomorrow, so I'll be sure to take lots of pictures. For myself, I made the greatest little witch hat!! It's not a full costume, but it will be fun!

Let's see...next week I need to start another item for publication and I am also working on some new submissions. And of course I am still working on my Debra Sweater. Almost done with my second sleeve.

Time to get off my butt and get some housework done! Have a great day everyone!

What I'm Working on Wednesday

Ooops! Just realized what day it was and that I forgot to post today!

Well, I'm happy to say that the three items I have been working on for publication have all been sent off to their new homes. I still need to put some finishing touches on one of the patterns, then it will be off too. I also just got some BEAUTIFUL yarns in the mail for yet another publication!! Things have been good lately!

Other than that, my sweet hubby asked me for a new hat this week....so I had to whip one up for him. Black with a white skull applique. And also on my hook is the Debra Sweater from the book "Crochet it. Love it. Wear it!" by The Crochet Dude. And this is being made for ME!!! In Red Heart Eco-Ways in Storm. Can't wait to finish that....the weather is finally getting cool enough to need it!

Next on my list are some Halloween costumes for my daughter and the neighbor. They will be pretty easy and I should be able to whip them up quickly. I'll definitely share pictures of them once they are finished.

OK, off to parent/teacher conferences! Don't forget about my Facebook fan contests and my new pattern too!

Easy Halloween Crafts from FaveCrafts.com

Yesterday I downloaded this fun ebook from favecrafts.com! I love Halloween and was hoping to find some unique decorations to make! I wasn't disappointed!

I can't wait to make the creative ghost centerpiece using cheesecloth! It will be so cool with a fake candle under it to make it glow! Hmmm....maybe you could even spray paint it with some glow-in-the-dark paint? And if it is stiff enough, maybe hang some from the ceiling! Too much fun and tons of possibilities!

And of course, why not decorate with some cute crocheted pumpkins!!

What I'm Working on Wednesday

Well, a very slow week for my crochet projects. I still have the same things on my hook. Instead of working on them, we decided to do a quick remodel on our bedroom this weekend. On Saturday we gutted the room and on Sunday we painted. It is now a beautiful Cactus Green and Terracotta Red!! We also purchased a new bed....one of those rustic log ones. It's BEAUTIFUL!! Only thing is that the new mattress we purchased to go with it is one of those new tall ones....and now the top of the bed is level with my belly button!! We need a ladder to crawl into it, LOL!! But my amazing husband has a plan to fix it next weekend.

We also installed a new ceiling fan/light and will be putting up new mirrored closet doors next weekend. Now to save some money to purchase new dressers and lots of fun Southwestern decorations!! I'm thinking some black wrought iron will look stunning!

I'll be sure to post some pictures when we are done. But for now I need to get off the computer and get my housework done so I can work on those crochet projects....

OH, and check out my newest listing on etsy!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! A few years ago I wrote this simple pattern for a skinny scarf to help support the cause! I believe the yarn I used is now discontinued, but this free pattern can be made using any worsted weigh yarns you like. I think it would look great in a solid pink, or you can make it in a pink and white stripe like shown in the pictures. It would make a great gift for someone fighting Cancer and for survivors! (The model is my good friend Katie.)
