My Goofball

What does your child do when they are bored and riding in the car? This is what my 10 year old did! Videotaped herself wearing a dog nose and singing to "Home" by Phillip Phillips.

Welcome!

Hi and welcome to my lonely old blog! I've been such a busy bee lately that it doesn't get as much attention as it should, but I am so happy that you are here to join me on A Tour Through Crochet Country Blog Tour! And hopefully you won't be disappointed that you stopped by!

First, let me say that I am honored to be among the amazing designers chosen for this tour. It really means a lot to me to be considered among them. One of the best things I've ever done for my crocheting career is join the CGOA Professional Program! I had the most amazing mentor (Hi! Miss Dee!) and learned a lot of valuable information that I have been happy to pass on to my mentee. Plus, some of you may know me from the book reviews that I write for the CGOA Newsletter and Blog.

Please remember that the blog tour is promoting Project Night Night, a wonderful charity organization supplying blankets for the needy. I hope you find it in your heart to donate to them. I am always happy to donate to charities and you'll find some links to various ones that I support over on the right hand side of my blog.

Now, for the reason you are all here.....a FREE CROCHET PATTERN! And guess what? It's a small blanket pattern perfect for donating to our worthy charity! (BTW, I'll be donating the one created for the pattern...along with a few others I have lying around....to Project Night Night!)

This pattern features a ripple stitch and puff stitches. It's made from bulky yarn and uses a large hook. So just like the name implies, it is Speedy Quick to crochet! I bet you can have one made in a weekend!

Also, while you are here, check out the tab at the top of the page to see what other free crochet patterns I offer. And, as a bonus, all month long you can take 25% off ANY purchase in my Etsy or Ravelry shops by using code NATCROMO25

OK, that's enough rambling for me! Be sure to stop by the other blog tour host today, Annette Stewart, and see what she has to say. Don't forget to download your free pattern here!

National Crochet Month 2013

It's that time of the year again....National Crochet Month!! Whooo hooo!!

And to celebrate, I've joined the most amazing list of crocheters for A Tour through Crochet Country hosted by Crochetville. All month long these amazing crocheters will be blogging all about our favorite craft. You never know what you will find....free patterns, giveaways, tutorials....I can't think of a better way to celebrate.

Also, we are encouraging you to support a well-chosen charity, Project Night Night

Well, my day is coming up quickly. Be sure to stop back here on the 7th to see what type of goodie I have in store for you!! In the meantime, all month long you can take 25% off ANY purchase in my Etsy or Ravelry shops by using code NATCROMO25 . See you in a few days! Enjoy the tour!

Martha Pullover - Knit Edge Magazine, Issue 2

I am thrilled to show all of you my newest design! And the fact that it is in a KNITTING magazine by none other than Cooperative Press, tickles me PINK!

The Martha Pullover is based on a design that I actually whipped up for myself (peach photo) and got many positive comments on, so I thought I'd submit it for publication. I was so happy it was accepted.

Oh, and who is Martha? She's my maternal grandmother....the one who taught me how to crochet!

Funny thing.....when they were photographing the sweater for the magazine, they tried it on upside-down! And guess what? It looks AMAZING that way too!! Who knew?
