My Crazy Dog!

Cute puppy! She's so playful! She seems like a sweet soul. Based on my experience with my big dogs and my years working as a vet assistance, I'd like to offer a bit of encouragement. Please teach her a definitive command to "Settle". You allow her the time to play, and then when you decide it is time for her to settle down, give her the command. I hold my hand up, palm facing out and say "Settle" in a firm voice. Part of the training is to get her to respond and if she doesn't then remove the positive reinforcement...giggling, your attention, etc. It will make your life easier in the long run, if you have control and you can get her to respond quickly and positively. She's just too big and quick for you not be able to get her attention with a quick command. Work on the "Come" command too. Or as my husband would yell at my dogs "GET YOUR A** OVER HERE!" with a quick snap of the fingers and a point to his feet.

I hope I'm not overstepping myself. I enjoyed the video, but as a trainer, I saw you give the command to settle and then let her keep going. Dogs respond to hierarchy and you want to be at least second dog after your husband, not her. Or top dog. LOL Whatever your preference. :D

Thanks Sara!! It is a command we work on when we can, but he doesn't get this wound up too often.

And I'm top dog, LOL!!
