Knitting and Crochet Accessory GIVEAWAY!

OK, it's time for a Jaybird Designs Giveaway!!

I have decided to expand into making knitting and crochet accessories and have made a prototype of a hook/needle case. But now I need some info from all my wonderful readers!! So, wanna win the prototype??? (sorry, hooks and supplies not included...these are MINE! LOL!!)

This case features a large pocket on the right that holds a variety of stuff. I usually keep my calculator, tape measure, and thread hooks in here. There is also a pocket on the left that is perfect for holding scissors. I have also made 11 hook/needle pockets that range in width from 3/4" to 1.5". My favorite part is the small piece of elastic attached to the large pocket! This is where I stick my sewing needles for easy access!! And it all folds up into a nice 7x10 inch rectangle and ties with a ribbon around a matching button.

Here is how to enter!

one (1) entry per *

*answer one or more of these questions in the comments:
1. Would you prefer a case that is for crochet hooks or knitting needles only, or one that can hold both?
2. Should the large pocket on the right have a button flap closure?
3. Would you like to see matching items such as stitch markers and project tote bags?
4. What are your ideal widths for the hook/needle pockets? (be specific on what you would put in these pockets)
5. Ideal number of hook/needle pockets.

*Follow me on Twitter and let me know in the comments.

* Tweet about my contest and let me know in the comments.

*Blog about the contest and link back to this post. Don't forget to let me know in the comments!

*Become a fan of the Jaybird Designs Facebook group and let me know in the comments.

BONUS! Get two (2) entries if you give me a suggestion for my items that I haven't mentioned or thought of yet, LOL!!

OK, so please remember that this is just a prototype! It's not perfect....it's made from scrap fabrics and some of the seams are not perfect. But I think it is cute and it is definitely functional.

Winner will be chosen at random on Tuesday, January 27th at 12noon MST. I'm looking forward to hearing all your thoughts and comments!!

Oh I want to win this bad!!

1. Would you prefer a case that is for crochet hooks or knitting needles only, or one that can hold both? Just crochet, because I can't knit, lol.

2. Should the large pocket on the right have a button flap closure?
It may not need it, but the more secure the better I say. And buttons are cute (:

3. Would you like to see matching items such as stitch markers and project tote bags? I think match project bags would be AWESOME!

Also, I'm following you on Twitter!

1. Would you prefer a case that is for crochet hooks or knitting needles only, or one that can hold both?
I would probably use this as a take-along holder instead of an everyday holder, so I'd probably want one for my crochet hooks, and one for my needles.

2. Should the large pocket on the right have a button flap closure?
If it had a closure, it would limit what you could put in it. I'd say leave it as is.

3. Would you like to see matching items such as stitch markers and project tote bags?
I don't use stitch markers (scrap pieces of yarn for me), but that would be really cute!

4. What are your ideal widths for the hook/needle pockets? (be specific on what you would put in these pockets)
How about the pockets go up (or down) in size so that it could accommodate our various sized hooks and/or needles.

5. Ideal number of hook/needle pockets.
Since I would use this more for my take-along projects, I would say not more than 5 or 6.

- I follow you on Twitter.
- I am a fan of your Facebook page.
- BONUS suggestion: How about sewing in a fabric tape measure at the top above the hooks/needles?
- Blogged about the give-away.
- Tweeted about the give-away.

Since I don't generally take both knitting AND crocheting projects on the go, I'd probably want one of each.

Crochet hooks

* Should the large pocket on the right have a button flap closure?

Yes! or a snap or velcro- as long as it can be secured

* Would you like to see matching items such as stitch markers and project tote bags?
I like mismatched patterns, but coordinating colors*wink*

* What are your ideal widths for the hook/needle pockets? (be specific on what you would put in these pockets)

I have several hooks in the same sizes and would like the pockets just large enough to hold 1-3 hooks

* Ideal number of hook/needle pockets. 8?

LOVE it J!!!

Ok, this is via Mom cause as you know, I leave the hookin' to her ;)

She says no closure on the large pocket, thay way anything she needs will fit.

She actually suggests a smaller "take along" that holds 3-4 hooks, And the larger one! She's never used stitch markers, but thinks it's a great idea, and while I've made her dozens of project bags, she'd love to be able to be matchy matchy!

I'm already a facebook fan, Haven't learned twitter yet (maybe we can get together on the phone sometime soon and you can walk me through setting it up? LOL)

And as soon as my blog is back up this weekend I'll blog ya!!!

Would you prefer a case that is for crochet hooks or knitting needles only, or one that can hold both? Crochet, please
2. Should the large pocket on the right have a button flap closure? Any kind of closing device is fine
3. Would you like to see matching items such as stitch markers and project tote bags? Sure!
4. What are your ideal widths for the hook/needle pockets? (be specific on what you would put in these pockets) Maybe one inch wide; there aren't too many hooks that would need more space than that. I sometimes combine several in a pocket.
5. Ideal number of hook/needle pockets. Between six and ten, I think.

I so so so so hope I win your cute little case. Thank you.

1. Would you prefer a case that is for crochet hooks or knitting needles only, or one that can hold both? CROCHET, I DON'T KNIT

2. Should the large pocket on the right have a button flap closure? MY THOUGHT IS NO. I LIKELY WOULDN'T BUTTON IT ANYWAY

3. Would you like to see matching items such as stitch markers and project tote bags? SURE! I DON'T USE STITCH MARKERS BUT I HAVE A NUMBER OF TOTE BAGS.

4. What are your ideal widths for the hook/needle pockets? (be specific on what you would put in these pockets) SEE BELOW

5. Ideal number of hook/needle pockets. HMM I DO NOT KNOW, I WOULD LIKELY WANT TO PUT ONE OF EACH SIZE I REGULARLY USE - G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,P. PROBABLY WOULD NEED A SLIGHTLY LARGER POCKET FOR THE LAST ONES

I twittered and Facebooked. I don't know what Tweet is. I had already blogged when I read this, so didn't do that, but will try to remember in tomorrow's post if that is not too late...

Oh how I love a good contest...I hope I win...

1. Would you prefer a case that is for crochet hooks or knitting needles only, or one that can hold both? I would say both, since I do both, and would like something I could carry with the sizes I may need at that time.

2. Should the large pocket on the right have a button flap closure? I do not see a need for one

3. Would you like to see matching items such as stitch markers and project tote bags? Oh that would be nice, and maybe stitch markers for crochet and knitting.

4. What are your ideal widths for the hook/needle pockets? (be specific on what you would put in these pockets)I use sizes G, H, J and K crochet hooks the most, and size 6, 7, 8 and 10 knitting needles the most.

5. Ideal number of hook/needle pockets.
I would say 8 to 10

I will be back later to let you know when I blog about this...

You prototype is awesome.

1.I prefer crochet hooks.

2. YES to button closure

3. YES to matching stitch markers especially ones that crocheter can use and matching totes to carry your project in

IDEA:
If you make the tote - It might be beneficial to merge the needle case with the tote. LIKE, on one of the side pockets put the hook holder and on the other side put the button large pocket for the scissors and needles.

Okay, will be posting about this giveaway for a PIF Monday on http://momwithahook.blogspot.com Won't be live until 12am tonight. I will also go follow you on twitter and join your fb group.

I'm so proud of you... You are finally a published designer - you deserve great success.

Thanks again for sharing this little lovey with your readers.
