A Little Teaser

So, I've been working very hard on a number of new crochet patterns to sell!! I'm really excited about them!!! It may still be a while until they are finished...testing...pictures...editing...so I don't know when they will be ready. But, until then, here is a little teaser for you!

Weekend Fun

My wonderful husband has been itching to get away lately, so for Father's Day weekend we took off and went camping in Ouray, Colorado....our favorite place!!

The RV did great and is ready for another year of fun, and Cash's first camping trip went well! He really enjoyed all the SMELLS! LOL!!

On Saturday we took "The Toaster" up and over Corkscrew Pass.(we actually did it the opposite way than this video) We almost got lost, but luckily I spotted some cars in the distance...so we turned around and headed back down. For Father's Day Ron got big new tires for "The Toaster", so it did awesome over the mountain top! Plus it is hilarious to see the dog four wheeling!

It was too cold and rainy, so we didn't do any swimming in the Hot Springs Pool. Heather was disappointed, but still enjoyed herself. Sunday was spent hiking and exploring a ghost town called Ironton.

Then home on Sunday for Ron's favorite food...fried zuchinni!! Grown in our own garden!

It was a nice weekend. Now I need to clean and do laundry before I can crochet!

Boo Boo Girl

First Heather comes home from the neighbors yesterday covered in purple fairy and flower tattoos...a huge one on her cheek, one on her forehead, the back of her hand, and a row of them across her neck.

Then she comes home crying with a 1" goose egg on her forehead!!! Seems she ran into the bunkbeds. No blood....whew! And at least the purple matches, LOL!!

OH....and she made daddy pay her $1 just to take the picture! That's my girl!

1. My wonderful husband who works harder than anyone should have to so that I can stay home with my daughter and crochet (all while complaining as little as possible!)

3. The remainder of my family who all live so far away that there are days when I miss them more than words can say! But knowing that they are only a phone call away seems to help.
4. The internet for keeping this homebody connected to friends and family.

7. Colorado...the sun, the mountains, the wonderful friends I've made...

I've Been Knitting!

OK, I admit it....I've been knitting. Well, practicing is more like it. I think I did a really good job on this basketweave baby blanket! I think I may donate it to my charity group. Or maybe give it to a friend of mine who is having a baby girl soon. We'll see.

But now, after this blanket and all the dish clothes I've made...I can say that I can definitely knit a square!!! Now, to tackle knitting in the round! LOL!!

The Living Room Afghan

So I finally figured out the afghan I will make for my new living room. I decided to use this beautiful pattern from Knit and Crochet Today, called Blushing Grannies by Michele Wilcox!

I am using Caron Simply Soft yarn. The center is Bone, the middle is Light Country Blue, and the outer edge in Country Blue.

I'm not a big fan of making squares and sewing them together, so I will be taking my time on this project!! I plan on making 6 squares at a time and then blocking them. Here is a picture of my first set blocking. While they are blocking, I will work on another small project, then back to another set of squares. We'll see how this works out, LOL!!

OK, this week's shop is STUNNING!! NDNChick does some beautiful beadwork!! I am so in love with her beaded haristicks!!! But....the needle artist in me wants to know if these can be made into knitting needles!!!! Or even have the beads put onto the ends of crochet hooks!! How cool would that be???

OK, here it is!!

I know it is not 100% finished yet, but many of you can't wait to see what I've done to my living room! I still need to get some new furniture...recliner, new end table and entertainment center...but you get the idea. I did new paint, curtains-pillows-lamp shade, screen door, wood baseboards, and hung the pictures. I think I spent about $1000 for everything.

New blue wall, couch from the playroom, new photo prints, lamp on left from goodwill and I covered the lampshade and made matching pillows. I still need to crochet an afghan and matching pillow.

I made the curtains and you can see my new screen door.

Baby Hats and Yummy Yarn!

Last month I won some yummy hand-dyed yarn and couldn't wait to crochet it up! This AquaMarine blue yarn by Little Bo-Peep Knits was wonderful!! But since it was such a small skein, I decided to make a baby hat for my charity group, Lil Troopers, out of it! Isn't it adorable!! Can't you just picture it on some sweet newborn baby's head?? I sure can!
